Mid Maner to get water by Dec: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said that Mid Maner will get waters by Dec this year and will be filled with 10 tmc waters for irrigation needs. Mid Maner will get flood canal waters from Sriram Sagar project, he said.

Along with Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy, Harish made a visit to Mallanna Sagar tunnels near Medigadda and then gave a power point presentation to about 200 farmers on the occasion. The minister took serious exception to the opposition for coming in the way of irrigation projects. Since completion of the projects will render them futureless, the Congress leaders are creating hurdles, he fumed. “This is not fair on the part of the Opposition to file wrong cases by using the names of a few farmers who are no more. The Congress misguided the courts and deceiving the farmers on the projects”, he said and asked the people to be wary of their conspiracies against the projects.

Harish said that the government is committed for ample use of Godavari river waters in Northern Telangana districts. By completion of Kaleswharam project we can address the drought problem in the region he said. The minister reiterated that the government is pressing its staff for irrigating one crore acres as per plan. The projects will be completed on time to ensure that the five districts in Northern Telangana get adequate waters for crops, he said. Works of pump house and tunnel will be complete at the earliest, he added. (NSS)
