Microsoft executive calls Apple apps as ‘struggling, lightweight’

The rivalry between the two top tech giants Microsoft and Apple doesn’t seem to cede anytime soon as the OS manufacturer’s vice president for communications has reportedly said that the iPhone maker’s new apps are struggling, lightweight productivity apps.

The scathing jab by Frank Shaw comes after Apple announced that iWork and iLife will come free with purchase of every new Mac or iOS device.

Shaw said that offering the apps for free doesn’t change the fact that it’s harder to get work done on a device that lacks precision input and a desktop for true side-by-side multitasking, Mashable reports.

In his blog, Shaw then listed some of the reasons for his jab, which included Microsoft’s Surface being superior to Apple’s iPad in terms of price, hardware and software.

He further took a dig at Apple’s of offering free apps as an attempt to play catch up, the report added. (ANI)
