Washington: American actor Michael B Jordan is mulling over working in an upcoming film ‘Journal for Jordan’.
The film will be directed by veteran Hollywood star Denzel Washington and will be scripted by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Virgil Williams, reported Variety.
It is based on the true story of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dana Canedy’s love affair with First Sergeant Charles Monroe King.
King kept a journal full of emotional and touching life lessons for their newborn son, Jordan, while deployed overseas. King was killed in Iraq in 2006 when his son Jordan was just seven months old, but his spirit lives on in his notes of love to Dana and Jordan.
Dana wrote a book on the same subject, which came out in 2008 and went onto become one of the biggest bestsellers.
Michael will also produce the film through his Outlier Society banner with Washington and Escape Artist’s Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.
Michael garnered immense appreciation for portraying the villain Erik Killmonger in ‘Black Panther’, the first Marvel film to earn a best picture Oscar nomination.
He last starred in ‘Creed II’ the second installment in the Rocky Balboa spinoff series. The sequel earned around USD 200 million at the worldwide box office.
Michael recently wrapped up the shooting for ‘Just Mercy’, a Warner Bros. courtroom drama. He will also be seen in ‘Without Remorse’.
