Miandad fears India will capture China market

Karachi, November 30: With the Pakistan Cricket Board dragging its heel, former captain Javed Miandad is afraid that India may capture cricket’s next big market in China.

Miandad, now a PCB Director-General and also Pakistan government’s cricket ambassador to China, has been repeatedly asking Board chairman Ejaz Butt to be pro-active to establish cricketing ties with China and is miffed at the cold response.

“Miandad is worried that with the PCB not taking the issue seriously other Asian countries like India and Bangladesh will establish a stronghold in the Chinese market and have stronger cricketing ties with China,” a well-informed source told .

Miandad wants PCB to develop infrastructure in China and provide technical assistance, free equipment and coaching to the Chinese players.
