The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday alerted all the states about possible terror attacks on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations.
In an advisory alert send to all the state governments, the MHA suggested that apart from keeping constant vigil at all important places, the security should also be adequately beefed up.
Consequent to the MHA alert, the police authorities in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states have formulated the required security arrangements, especially at crowded areas where the Republic Day celebrations were being planned. Apart from sensitive areas and crowded places like airports, railway stations and bus deports, police vigil has been stepped up with surprise checks and frisking of people, checking of vehicles etc.
The security arrangements including surprise checks and frisking operations have also been tightened in and around Hyderabad City, especially in and around Secunderabad Parade Grounds where the official Republic Day celebrations of the Telangana State would be held with Governor ESL Narasimhan taking salute of the combined armed forces.(NSS).
