Adviser (Projects), Railway Board, Mr.Pradeep Kumar has inspected the Metro Rail pre-cast yard and depot works at Uppal and pillar construction works between Nagole and Mettuguda along with HMR MD Mr.N.V.S.Reddy and senior engineers of S.C.Railway and L&T today.
Impressed by the magnitude, speed and quality of works at all these locations, Mr.Pradeep Kumar has congratulated HMR and L&T for creating Asia’s biggest casting yard at Uppal. Establishment of such a large casting yard near the project area speeds up project execution, facilitates better quality control and reduces inconvenience to road users as many components of the Metro Rail viaduct and stations are pre-fabricated in the casting yard itself, he has observed. Reiterating the supportive role of Indian Railways for the Metro Rail project, he has advised the engineers of S.C. Railway, HMR and L&T to quickly finalise the construction methodology and construction schedule for the elevated Metro Rail viaduct over the tracks of Indian Railways at the 8 railway crossings.
After the inspection, detailed discussions were held by him with Mr.N.V.S.Reddy and senior engineers of S.C.Railway, HMR and L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd., on several technical and safety related issues of the project. The procedures to be followed by L&T and HMR for technical submissions to Ministry of Railways for safety certification of the Metro Rail system by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) were also deliberated in the meeting.
South Central Railway’s Principal Chief Engineer Mr.V.Srihari, Chief Bridge Engineer Mr.R.K.Meena, Principal Chief Signalling & Telecom Engineer Mr.P.K. Srivastava, DRM, Secunderabad Mr.S.K.Mishra, DRM, Hyderabad Mr.Rakesh Aron, L&TMRHL Project Director Mr.M.P.Naidu and other senior engineers of S.C.Railway, HMR and L&T participated in the technical deliberations.(NSS)
