Metro Rail project to create 2 lakh job opportunities

Hyderabad, May 1: Metro Rail project is expected to create 2 lakh jobs either directly or indirectly. This dream will become a reality once the project work gets started.

The project is also expected to attract investments of about Rs. 40 to 50 thousand crores.

“As part of the first phase of the project, we would hire about 50,000 workers to undertake the construction of the metro project over the next five years. About 2,500 skilled engineers would also be part of the project,” said Vivek B Gadgil, chief executive & managing director, L&TMRHL.

Meanwhile, as part of its skill development initiative, L&T has set up a construction skills training institute in Jedcharla, Mahabubnagar district last year. The centre offers a three-month course in system framework, bar bending and steel fixing, masonry and construction and electrical works
