The #MeToo movement sparked in India, which has gained momentum in the country after a number of women, from different fields of work, shared their harassment difficulties on social media platforms.
Lata Ketkar, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Madhya Pradesh women wing chief said in her statement that could possibly stir up a controversy, she said that she does not consider women journalists so “innocent” that they could be misused by anyone.

She said, “I welcome this MeToo campaign, I think he was a journalist before becoming a minister and all those who have accused him are also journalists but I don’t consider women journalists to be so innocent that anyone can misuse them.”
However, she also said that she welcomed the Me Too movement as it gave strength to women if they felt they had been harassed.
