Met dept warns of heavy rains in Sub-Himalayan Bengal

Kolkata: The Met department today warned of heavy to very heavy rains with extremely heavy rains at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal for the next four days.

The Sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Alipurduars are likely to receive very heavy rains with extremely heavy precipitation till August 12, the Met department said.

The southern districts of the state, which are receiving light to moderate rains will receive so till August 11 and from August 12 are likely to experience heavier precipitation, it said.

The metropolis received 30 mm rainfall during 24 hours till 8.30 AM.

Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar received 25 mm and 26 mm rainfall respectively during the same period, the weatherman said.
