Former President of MIM, Nawab Bahadur Yaar Jung was born in Begumbazar locality of Hyderabad. He had given the message of Unity and integrity to the Muslims from this locality. Till very recently, this locality used to be occupied predominantly by the Muslims and there were many mosques and Dargahs but it is very regrettable that many important monuments of the Muslims have been vanished from this locality. The bungalow of Nawab Bahadur Yaar Jung has turned into a dilapidated building. On the other side of Begumbazar there is another bungalow where former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain was born. It could have been turned into a museum but a marwadi has purchased it. He wants to dismantle it to construct a multi-storeyed commercial complex. The building of Nawab Bhadur Yar Jung is in a bad condition. On its gate, “Bismillahir Rehman ir Raheem” was written and its colour of its gate used to be green but “Bismillahir Rehman ir Raheem” has been erased. Every year, the gate is painted with Saffron colour. There used to be a street called (Rangeen Taleem) now it is changed as Balagi Nagar. This locality was inhabited at some time in the past with intellectuals but now communal elements are residing in it. The mosque named after Bahadur Yar Jung is trying to be closed by putting garbage in front of its entrance. On searching the records of Wakf Board under its number Hyd/3144, is was noticed that there used to be an open land measuring 4500 sq. yards but it not known who is occupying this land. Organizations which are active in the field of protection of Wakf properties should pay attention to this and collect the details of wakf properties in this locality so that Muslims could benefit out of it.
