Bangalore city conducted a flurry of activity to raise awareness among the people on conservation of water marked the World Water Day on Saturday.
Children drawn from various schools, took part in colouring competition at Bal Bhavan, on Save Water for My Tomorrow, and participated in a cycle rally, under the auspices of Water Literacy Foundation.
And college students too gave away empty pots of ink, carrying the message — No Lake, No Water — under the banner of the United Way of Bengaluru, formed part of the activities.
A memorandum was submitted to Governor H R Bhardwaj seeking strict implementation of Rainwater Harvesting (RWH), prevention of using potable water for flushing; soak pits in lawns and gardens owned by the government, among others.
