Govt. is not considering any proposal to merge the Commissionerates of of Hyderabad and Cyberabad. Such a proposal has not been received from the DGP. Ms. Sabitha Indira Reddy, Home Minister replying to a question in the Assembly told this. MLA’s belonging to Congress and MIM parties raised this issue in Assembly yesterday.
Home Minister said that in case any such proposal is received from police department, it will be considered in detail and action would be taken accordingly. These MLA’s recorded their strong protest with the Govt. saying that it is a conspiracy of the Govt. to make Hyderabad a Unioin Territory which will be opposed. They asked the Minister as to who had given this authority to DGP to formulate such proposals.
