Ahmedabad, April 16: Gujarat continued to reel under severe heat conditions with temperature soaring to over 46 degrees Celsius in some parts of the state today, Met officials said.
“The severe heat conditions are due to westerly to northwesterly winds which are prevailing at lower levels over the region…Heat wave conditions would continue to prevail in parts of Gujarat during the next two days,” they said.
The highest temperature of 46.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Idar taluka of Sabarkantha district.
Above 40 degree Celsius temperatures were recored in several cities including Ahmadabad (44.6), Rajkot (43.8), Bhuj (43.4), Deesa (44.3), Gandhinagar (43.8), Vadodara (44.2), Surat (40.5) and Vallabh Vidhyanagar (43.4).
