Johannesburg:International Automobile Federation (FIA) president Jean Todt has downplayed the need to stop Mercedes’ dominance in Formula One, saying that domination has always been a part of the sport.
Todt’s comments came after F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone demanded for change in F1 by expressing his desire to stop Mercedes domination, Sport24 reported.
Ecclestone remained adamant to stop one and a half year of German marque’s run of almost constant winning.
Pointing out that dominance has always been a part of motor sport, Todt indirectly asked Ecclestone to stop talking about team’s domination and start encouraging other teams to catch up with them.
Mercedes have been dominating this season as well, with Nico Rosberg winning four out of first five races of this season so far.(ANI)
