Memorandum demanding action against violence in Assam

A delegation Karnataka Muslim Muthahida Mahaz, Bangalore met the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Mr. G. Parmeshwar, president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) separately and submitted a memorandum demanding action against the perpetrators of violence in Assam, here recently.

The events in Assam have shaken the Muslim community and the Muslims are becoming restless over the loss of innocent lives to mindless violence by the Bodo Militants. Several innocent women and children have died in this incident and an estimated thousand families have left the villages. The local administration and State government has been turning a blind eye to this complicity said members of Mahaz. After discussions, Mr. G. Parmeshwar assured the delagtion that a copy of the memorandum would be handed over to UPA Chairperson, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Prime minister.
