Hyderabad: Mekala Kavya daughter of Mekala Ayappa a close associate to Minister Mallareddy became the youngest woman at the age of 26 to become the first mayor of the newly formed Jawaharnagar municipal corporation.
Mekala Kavya contested in the 15th division of the 20 divisions bagged by the TRS party.
The young mayor has done schooling from Narayana School in Marredpalli of Secunderabad, intermediate from Narayana Jr college and graduated from Srinidhi Engineering College. Kavya was got married to a software engineer in 2017.
It is learned that Mekala Bhargava Ram, brother of Kavya has played a prominent role in her win.
