Mehmood Pracha’s open letter to Virat Kohli on CAA

New Delhi: Supreme Court advocate and Bhim Army’s legal advisor Mehmood Pracha in his open letter to Indian cricket team Captain Virat Koli, appreciated the Cricketer’s maturity of not commenting on the controversial CAA amidst rising conspiracies by Politicians following Hindutva ideology conspiring against influential personalities deliberately designed to divert public’s attention from their colossal failure in almost all spheres of governance.

Explaining how CAA is discriminatory against Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians, Mr Pracha disclosed that the Citizenship Act 1955 before the current amended act had granted Indian citizenship to the above section of people persecuted in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and that there was no need for amending existing act.

It is well-known that the present government are hell-bent on diluting and ultimately replacing the Indian Constitution with Manusmriti.

The CAA, along with NRC and NPR is just another gimmick aimed at polarizing and dividing the country on religious lines, he explains, adding with this Machiavellian intent the government is setting the stage for denial of reliefs and benefits to the SC, ST, OBCs as well as women belonging to the same religion.

Mr Pracha explains amid Home Minster Amit Shah’s claims, no procedure has been laid down for verification of a migrant to verify whether or not the migrant is from the countries, or follows the religion mentioned in CAA.

Meanwhile, no procedure has been formulated to aid migrants taking refuge in other countries like Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada with no planning or budget formulated for this sole purpose.
