Mehbooba: PDP govt had facilitated dialogue process

Jammu, March 03: Rejecting Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s allegation that it had engineered a split in the separatist Hurriyat, PDP today retorted that it was its government which facilitated the dialogue process between separatists and the Centre.

“Our government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had initiated and facilitated dialogue between the separatist Hurriyat Conference and the Centre to resolve the Kashmir issue,” its president Mehbooba Mufti told reporters.

She was reacting to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s charge that the PDP was instrumental in dividing the Hurriyat.

Yesterday, while speaking on a motion of thanks to the governor’s address in the state Legislative Council, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had alleged that the PDP was responsible for the split in Hurriyat.

Mufti said “We are sorry for his statement. He is confused so he can make allegations. By his statement it means that PDP is so powerful that it could break Hurriyat”.
