Mehbooba meets Shah, sparks fresh speculation over Govt. formation in J-K

New Delhi: Peoples’ Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday met his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) counterpart Amit Shah here, however, there was no clear indication whether they were able to make headway with regard to a government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, said sources.

The PDP president, who was in the national capital to attend the Budget Session of Parliament, drove in a car without security, while the meeting lasted for nearly 30 minutes, said sources.

The PDP, which had toughened its stance after chief minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s demise, demanding concrete plans for the state’s development before the coalition could be resumed, may latch onto Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement in the Lok Sabha, where he promised speedy implementation of all the projects.
