Mehbooba expresses anguish over killing of civilians, cop

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today expressed deep anguish over the killing of three civilians and a policeman in a militant attack in Kulgam district yesterday.

“It is unfortunate for the state that human blood is being split here when elsewhere in the world, the futility of violence to achieve political goals has been established beyond doubt,” she said.

Five persons – a policeman, a wanted militant of Lashker-e-Taiba terror group and three civilians – were killed when the militants attacked a police party in Kulgam in South Kashmir yesterday.
