Mega Lok Adalat disposes off over 7,500 cases in two days

As many as 7,502 cases were disposed off during the two-days of Mega Lok Adalat held by Metropolitan Legal Services Authority at Criminal Court’s Complex in Hyderabad and Secunderabad on Saturday and Sunday.

The disposed off cases includes 2,037 criminal cases and 5,465 pre-litigation cases pending on various courts of this unit.

The Mega Lok Adalat was held under the personal supervision of Metropolitan Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, Metropolitan Legal Services Authority G.Shyam Prasad and , 1st Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sri. G.Lakshmipati and Chief Metropolitan Magistrate K Sanga Reddy.

According to Authority’s Secretary P Chandra Sekhara Prasad, the programme was conducted successfully with the efforts and participation of Presiding Officers, Advocates, court staff, parties and police officials concerned. The parties in the cases have come forward voluntarily and settled the matters on receipt of notice from various courts and settled the matter before the Lok Adalat. Apart from the above cases seven cases of Plea Bargain have been disposed off. (INN)
