Telangana government has initiated measures to make greater Hyderabad as a world class city.
B.V. Papa Rao, Advisor to Government of Telangana, Narsing Rao, IAS, Principal Secretary, CM Office, S.K. Joshi, IAS, Principal Secretary, MA&UD, Pradeep Chandra, IAS, Commissioner, HMDA, Sri Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, Jagdishwar, IAS, Managing Director, HMWS&SB along with senior officials of the various Government departments held a meeting as per the directions of the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard.
In the meeting discussions were held with regard to 14 different types of Infrastructure facilities like drinking water arrangements, Roads, Electricity, Communication, Transport, Energy, Environment, Heritage, Slums, recreation, mobility, Sports, Tourism, Culture, Safety and security measures, walking track, Infrastructure development and various civic related issues.
The concerned officials have interacted and exchanged their views and desired to come up with the proposals in a day or two so as to have a meeting with Chief Minister of Telangana in a couple of days.
The Chief Minister is very much keen in cleaning Hussain Sagar and also pointed out that Industrial effluents, drainage water should not be released in to the lake and also to provide another lake for Ganesh immersion in the coming days to this effect discussions were also held in the meeting.
The team of officials have also discussed about providing one separate lake for the Ganesh immersion near Indira Park where a decisions has been taken to take up a survey and to put up the proposals so as to place the same before the Government for taking up the works. It has also been discussed that nearly 110 major industries which are at Kukatpally are releasing industrial effluents and as well as drainage water in the Hussainsagar lake polluting the entire lake for which the officials have decided to bring up the proposals to curb such menace to safeguard the health conditions of the citizens.
The chief minister would soon held a meeting after receiving proposals from respective Heads of the departments.(NSS)
