Following the request by Saudi government to slash Hajj quota by 20%, the Central Hajj Committee has called a meeting on June 27, in New Delhi to finalize action plan for Hajj 2013. Chairman and executive officers of Hajj committees of all the states have been invited.
Reduction in Hajj quota, collection of 2nd installment from Hajj aspirants, Hajj 2013 schedule and other matters are likely to be finalized in the meeting. Reports of reduction in Hajj quota by 20 percent has triggered a wave of apprehension among the Hajj aspirants of the state. Although the central Hajj Committee has not informed the state Hajj committees about reduction of Hajj quota however it is likely that the allotted quota of all the states will be slashed by one way or another.
State Hajj Committee chairman Khaleeluddin Ahmed and Executive officer M A Hameed will attend the meeting.
