Vijayawada Urban TDP president Vallabhaneni Vamsi has clarified that his meeting Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada recently was unintentional and not pre-planned.
In a written reply to party chief Chandrababu Naidu for the show-cause notice issued to him by the party which has taken serious exception to the meeting, Vamsi explained that he was an ardent follower of the late TDP leader Paritala Ravi and a disciplined worker of the TDP. Stating that he had not said anything against the party, Vamsi has stated that he would not talk ill of the party even in future.
It may be mentioned here that Vamsi met Jagan when the local Congress leader Vangaveeti Radha Krishna joined the YSR Congress recently. The two hugged each other in a show of cordiality. Video footage of the meeting shown by TV channels caused ripples in political circles. Rumors started spreading that Vamsi, a follower of actor Jr NTR and TDP MP Nandamuri Hari Krishna would soon be joining the YSRC.
Taking serious note of the meeting, TDP leadership issued a show-cause notice to Vamsi. It faulted Vamsi for meeting Jagan as there were allegations that he was involved in the murder of Paritala Ravindra.
It was said that Jr NTR was hurt that the Krishna district TDP has given a call for district bandh on the Bandar Port issue on the day his latest flick ‘Dammu’ was scheduled for release. It was discussed in political circles that Jr NTR had suspected that the bandh call was given at the behest of Bala Krishna, another hero of the Nandamuri clan. To give a jolt to the TDP leadership, he had asked Vamsi to meet Jagan in full public view on a road in Vijayawada, it was said. (NSS)
