Meerut police today arrested three persons in alleged gang rape of a 20 year-old teacher who was also forced to change her religion.
Commissioner of Meerut division Bhupender Singh confirmed the report saying, “Investigation is on, three people have been arrested but the main accused is still absconding,” said Singh.
“On basis of medical report and findings of the probe, we are hopeful that we will crack the case soon,” he added.
He said that medical reports have revealed intercourse but no such injuries have been found which say whether it was a gang rape. The operation was done to terminate the abortion.
Adding to it he also said that the law and order has been tightened and the victim’s family is under tight security.
A 20-year-old teacher of Hindi and English in the Sarawa village madrasa in Kharkhauda had claimed that she was gang- raped and forced to adopt the religion of a particular community and to change her name.
The woman reportedly managed to escape from the kidnappers on August 2. Afterwards, she contacted her family who rescued her. A complaint was also filed later with the police. (ANI)
