Meer Alam Mandi confronts negligence of govt. and municipality

Hyderabad, November 01: The oldest vegetable market of the old city better known as Meer Alam Mandi has transformed into a pile of garbage thanks to the negligence and carelessness of the state government.

The market comprising of above 400 shops where more than 5 thousand customers come to buy vegetables has been a victim of negligence of authorities.

The surrounding city of the market is called as a Muslim predominant area and the market is being visited mostly by burqa-clad Muslim women. Conspiracies have been plotted by the governments to put an end to the market which was set up during the rule of Asifiya Sultanate, according to Market committee supervisor Veerappa and union president Mir Muzaffar Ali.

The said authorities also told that ‘an additional amount of Rs 10000 is being paid monthly to the concerned municipal office for clean-up works still the trash is not picked up from the market.’ With slight shower of rain the market transforms into a quagmire as a result the customers face lot of inconvenience.
