All 342 Mee Seva services are likely to wind up from March 19 as hundreds of staffers have been served with “termination letters.” The three-year contract between service providers and State government has ended.
There are 110 centres across the State in which 720 Mee Seva staffers work in positions ranging from manager to office boy. Ram Info, which had entered into an agreement with the government in March 2013, awarded the sub-contract to Vupadhi Techno Services Private Limited and IT Serve Global later. But this is the first time that outsourced staffers have been served with termination letters by the service providers.
The staffers mostly include those who have been working for more than 12 years for Mee Seva (earlier eSeva). There are 55 Mee Seva centres operational in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.
