Lucknow: Upset at being repeatedly eve-teased and the police not taking any action against the culprit, a medical student has allegedly committed suicide in the state capital.
According to one of the relative of the deceased, she had lodged an FIR at the Vikasnagar Police Station, but the police refused to register it.
“The Station Officer of Vikasnagar said we have talked to the guy and he won’t harass her again,” her relative said.
Her family members further complained that M.B.A student Ajay Vishwakarma was harassing her and had also threatened to throw acid on her.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said that he had to the officials of the Police Station, but they refused to have knowledge of any such complaint.
“I have asked the SP of Trans-Gomti to enquire if any complaint was ever given to police on this,” Kumar said.
He, however assured that the police would investigate the matter and take appropriate action against the culprit.
