Prof. Dr. Mohammed Aqil Quadri Principal Luqman Unani Medical College Bijapur said Unani medicine is becoming popular in modern days. Need is to promote research activities in the field of Unani medicine. He was addressing an extension lecture on importance of Unani Medicine held by All India Unani Tibbi Conference Telangana branch at Urdu Maskan.
Dr. Iftekhar Jahan Begum retd. Principal Nizamia Tibbi College presided over the programme. Dr. Khaja Badruddin Siddiqui Vice President welcomed the gathering.
Prof. Aqil Quadri stressed the need for medical ethics and said medicine is a sacred profession hence it is the foremost responsibility of medicos to maintain its sanctity. He claimed that Unani medicine has always rejected commercialisation of the profession while some associated with other forms of medicines have encouraged commercialisation of diagnosis and treatment which is against medical ethics. He further said that some business minded elements have tried to defame the profession to gain wealth.
