‘Medical marijuana could get legalized in New York this spring’

Bolstered by increasing public acceptance and hints of support from Gov. Cuomo, advocates of medical marijuana believe that it could get legalized in New York this spring.

The new version, introduced Friday, removed language which gave doctors freedom to prescribe marijuana for a wide array of symptoms and instead limits its use to about 20 serious conditions, including cancer, traumatic brain injury, AIDS, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and post-traumatic stress disorder, the New York Daily News reported.

This version also prevents anyone below 21 from being able to smoke pot for medicinal purposes – though they may be prescribed the drug in other forms. (ANI)
