Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy has said there was possibility of 20 districts in the State will have medical colleges if the Union government gave a green signal.
The Health Minister was speaking to the media on Thursday when he arrived here to inaugurate a furniture shop in Proddutur town.
Ravindra Reddy said that the Union government was willing to grant sanction for opening 100-seat medical colleges wherever there are 300-bed hospitals in the districts. However, these colleges would be set up under Public-Private Participation sharing 50 per cent expenditure each. If this formula came into a reality, the government hospital in Proddutur will have a medical college, he added. (NSS)
