New Delhi, November 23 (Siasat News): “The congress government at the center is committed to give reservations to Muslims and would reserve a separate quota for backward Muslims out of Mandal commission’s 27% quota. And for this, the eligibility would be same as was accepted by Supreme Court. Using the same yardstick, reservation is allotted to the Muslims of AP, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.”
These were the words of the minister for minority affairs Mr. Salmon Churched while he was delivering his inaugural address at Jamie Handed auditorium, which was jointly conducted by Khanqah-e-Rahmania, Mongir and Jamia Hidaya, Jaipur.
He said that the reservation is not possible in private sectors but the way this sector provides training to SC/ST and the cost of the training borne by the government, he is trying to provide same kind of training to Muslims.
He added that since the formation of Knowledge Commission, it is likely that it would inquire about the activities of the private sector and if found that there are certain inequalities being practiced by the sector, it could be penalized and secondly, the private sector would have wash its hands as far as getting government grant is concerned.
Mr.Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, managing editor Siasat, in his speech said that the media is solely responsible in creating awareness among Muslims regarding various schemes and programmes, be it education or any other reforms.
He poured light on how these activities proved vital for Muslims and they are now moving forward in the field of education. Not only this, the economic condition of the community is also progressed.
The head of Jamia Hidaya, Jaipur Maulana Md. Afzalur-Rahim Mujaddadi also covered this topic in his speech and said that the intentions of the government are not at all doubtful but there are difficulties in implementing various schemes because the bureaucracy is not transparent and it want the matter to be always in topsy turvy.
He said that under the scheme of Indira Awas Yojna, 2,15,260 houses were approved but not a single Muslim got benefited by this scheme.
That is why it is the need of the hour that beneficial and welfare schemes should be implemented to ground levels and no stone should kept unturned to meet the scheme with success.
M/s Shabnam Hashmi of Anhad, Azam Khan of Hyderabad Zakat foundation of India, Md. Adeeb, MP, renowned advocate and member Muslim personal law board Yousuf Hatim Machala and former VC Agra University Dr. Manzoor Ahmed also expressed their precious views.
