Medak poised for industrial growth

Sangareddy, March 14: Being nearer to the State capital, Medak district is once again poised for industrial expansion.

Few days back Major Industries Minister J. Geetha Reddy announced that industries major Mahindra and Mahindra would be expanding its production plant with an estimated investment of Rs. 250 crore.

It will be completed within five years in phased manner and provide employment for more than 1,500 people locally in addition to senior technical staff. Ancillary units will also come up, thereby providing indirect employment.

Similarly, TMT tyres unit was also planning to expand it production activity. Located at Kallakal in Toopran mandal, TMT tyres is all set to commence production of tyres shortly.

According to sources in the Industries Department, the industry is ready to expand its activity with an estimated investment of Rs. 500 crore. “We are hoping a large-scale industrial development in the near future. Being close to the State capital is an advantage to the district,” said an official.
