A meeting of the Review Committee of District Development Committee was held in the newly constructed collectorate’s meeting hall yesterday. Minister incharge of the District, Ms. D.K. Aruna presided over the meeting. Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Minister for Heavy Industries, Mr. Muthyam Reddy, Mr. Kishta Reddy. Andeshwar Goud, Mr. T. Harish Rao, Mr. Narsa Reddy (MLA’s) Mr. Bhoopal Reddy, Mr. Mohammed Farooq Hussain (MLC’s) and the newly elected TRS MLC’s Mr. Swamy Goud and Mr. Sudhakara Reddy attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Kishta Reddy complained that on the occasion of CM’s tour of Patancheruvu on 28th March, protocol was not maintained. MLA’s were asked to sit behind the CM. Mr. Bhoopal Reddy, MLC and Mr. Narsa Reddy, MLA of Gajwel informed that a private organization of women had organized this meeting but it was the responsibility of the district administration to take care of the protocol arrangements. Mr. Bhoopal Reddy complained that the collector neglected the protocol. Clarifying the issue, Collector of Medak, Mr. Dinakar Babu told that he was busy talking to CM and that in future, he would take care of the protocol. It was demanded that action should be taken against the District Revenue Officer who was incharge of protocol.
Minister incharge of Medak District, Ms. D.K. Aruna also complained that an attempt was made to overlook her also in the said programme. Dr. J. Geetha Reddy told that such incident should not recur in the future.
Mr. Swamy Goud, MLC told that there is a need for appointing 1.5 lakh Panchayat Secretaries and to make the temporarily Secretaries Permanent. He also suggested that the meeting of District Development Committee should be held once in three months.
Criticizing Mr. G. Ramesh, District Education Officer, Mr. T. Harish Rao, MLA of Siddipet told that he is suspending the teachers alleging that their performance is not satisfactory. He has also furnished wrong information of the vacant posts of School Assistants and Language Pandits.
DEO promised that he would look into the matter. Mr. Harish Rao presented the copy of G.O. No. 43 wherein these vacancies have been shown as “Nil”. Dr. J. Geetha Reddy told that there is a considerable population of Urdu speakers in the district and therefore all the vacant posts of Urdu teachers should be filled up.
Mr. Farooq Hussain and Mr. Muthyam Reddy indulged into quarrel twice in the meeting. Mr. Muthyam Reddy was angry at District Collector that developmental works to the extent of Rs. 5 lakh are being undertaken in his constituency Dubak without his knowledge. Mr. Farooq Hussain replied that as MLC, he is getting the development works done from the funds allotted to him and it is within the rules. Ms. D.K. Aruna advised both the leaders not to express their differences in the meeting.
Mr. Suresh Shetkar, MP drew the attention of the Committee on the scarcity of drinking water in the district. Dr. A. Sharath Joint Collector, Mr. Murthy, Additional Joint Collector, Mr. Prakash Rao, District Revenue Officer and Mr. Ramchandra Rao, Revenue Divisional Officer were present in the meeting.
