Dhal Singh, a meat seller by profession, on Sunday night killed his wife Dhaneshwari and all five daughters one by one after he suspected his wife of illicit relationship.
The barbaric act took place in Mohandi Pat village near Balod. The couple had a quarrel two days ago over the illicit affair, after which Dhal Singh on the murderous spree.
He first killed his wife and then proceeded to slit the throats of all his five daughters – Nisha, Laxmi, Shakti, Nandini and Sandhya.
After police arrested the butcher, he admitted that he made a mistake in killing his daughters, but added that he was not repentant for killing his wife.
