Moradabad: A welfare organisation in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, which conducts mass marriages for poor Muslim people, became the prey of the ongoing meat ban in the state.
Following the ban they were forced to serve vegetable biryani to their guests on Tuesday. Guests at the function were served vegetable pulao colloquially known as tahri.
With Yogi Adityanath becoming the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, meat bans as well as ban on illegal slaughter houses have raised to the fore.

“Like every year, we have organised mass wedding of 51 couples. It was supposed to happen in November but, we had to postpone it to March due to demonetisation,” informed Sadiq, a member of the welfare organisation. He further said, “As there is a shortage of meat in the state hence, we were left with no option but, to serve vegetable biryani to our guests. ”
