Gonda, January 28: Two children have died and over a dozen have been taken ill due to an outbreak of measles in Khajuria village of the district, health officials said today.
Sonu (8) and Shanti (6) died due to measles yesterday and over a dozen children are ill in the village due to the infection, they said.
Chief Medical Officer MP Tripathi said that teams of doctors have been rushed to the village to treat the children.
Measles is an infection of the respiratory system and is highly contagious.
