Ace golfer Rory McIlroy has said that he would try to win the glittering prize of 2.5 million dollar on offer for a hole-in-one at the Dubai Desert Classic’s.
The organisers of the Dubai Desert Classic will bestow 2.5 million dollar on the first player who manages a hole in one on the par-four 17th during the closing 36 holes of the event. The hole, which typically measures 359 yards, will be shortened to 325 yards.
The windfall for one shot of golf equals the entire prize fund for the European Tour event, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and matches the reported appearance money that will go to top draw Tiger Woods, Sport24 reports.
McIlroy said the hard thing is going to be getting the right line, as it’s a blind shot, and added that his caddie is already getting the line worked out for him.
Prizes for golfers in tournament play are common, but they usually come on par-threes and they usually involve a luxury car or a bejewelled watch. (ANI)
