New Delhi, August 18: The sanitation employees of MCD today demanded the release of the first installment of arrears payable to them after the civic body implemented the recommendations of the sixth pay commission.
The Sanitation Employees Welfare Association said its members will stage a demonstration at the MCD headquarters on August 28 in support of their demand.
The first installment of 40 per cent of the arrears was paid only to class IV employees while the rest were yet to receive it. The payment was to be released in the last financial year, the association’s General Secretary K K Lohat said.
