MCD to move SC over HC order on cycle rickshaw policy

New Delhi, February 15: The MCD today said it will knock the Supreme Court’s doors against the Delhi High Court ruling that lifted the restriction on number of cycle rickshaw pullers in the national capital.

“We had formulated the earlier rickshaw policy working under the guidelines of the Delhi High Court while the recent decision has also come from the high court. We will move to Supreme Court so that we can get clear-cut guidelines on the issue,” Delhi Mayor Kanwar Sain said.

At the same time, Sain maintained that the MCD does not want to snatch the livelihood of rickshaw pullers. “We only want clear guidelines and policy.”

The issue was discussed at a meeting of MCD House today.
