Senator John McCain was caught playing poker on his smartphone while President Barack Obama’s top aides were arguing over a military strike on Syria.
The Arizona Republican, who has pushed hard for the United States to take military action, appeared more interested in playing the game than listening to Secretary of State John Kerry, who was making a case to punish Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.
According to the New York Daily News, a photographer caught McCain red-handed playing poker on his smartphone. McCain was so engrossed in his game that he failed to notice the Washington Post photographer who caught him in the act, the report said.
McCain, when alerted that his poker playing had gone viral, tried to joke it off. “Scandal!” he tweeted, adding: “Caught playing iPhone game at 3+ hour Senate hearing — worst of all I lost!” Later, McCain made another admission, saying that there are times that he gets a wee bit bored. (ANI)
