New Delhi : Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday announced a scholarship of Rs.10, 000 per month for schoolboy Pranav Dhanawade, who became the first batsman in the world to score 1000 runs in one innings.
The scholarship would be paid for a period of five years, commencing from January 2016 to December 2021.
The association will also monitor the cricketing and educational activities of the 15-year-old for the given period.
Earlier, the Maharashtra Government had also announced to look after the education and coaching expenses of the wonder boy.
The Mumbai teenager created history by smashing 127 boundaries and 59 sixes to reach an unbeaten knock of 1009 during his side’s KC Gandhi School two-day match against Arya Gurukul School.(ANI)
