MBT urges CM to grant special break for Muslim staff to offer Friday prayer

Majlis Bachao Tahreek here on Friday urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to grant 90-minute special break for Muslim government employees to offer compulsory Friday prayers.

           

In a letter to the Chief Minister, MBT spokesman Amjed Ullah Khan stated the Friday prayer was obligatory for all Muslims, who have to visit a mosque and offer prayer from 1 pm to 2 pm. He said the millions of Muslim community will be grateful to him if he accorded the special concession for the Muslim government employees.

Amjed Ullah Khan also profusely thanked the Chief Minister for doing a lot for the welfare of Muslims in the State like appointing a Muslim as Deputy Chief Minister, enhancing budget for Minorities’ welfare, granting scholarships to students, loans through Minorities Finance Corporation, residential schools, introducing Shadi Mubarak scheme for poor Muslim girls and steps being taken for giving 12% reservation to the community.
