The Majlis Bachau Tahreek (MBT) on Friday expressed apprehensions that Old City students, appearing for SSC exams, might face inconvenience due to certain restrictions imposed by the police for Shobha Yatra procession, being taken out on Saturday on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi.
“The procession is coinciding with the Physics Exams for SCC students. Since many examination centers are also located in communally sensitive areas, it would be difficult for the students to reach/return from those places. As almost all roads are blocked in view of procession, the students will find it difficult to reach the Centers or return home after appearing for the exams. The students living in the Old City, but having their centers in the new city, will be the main sufferers,” MBT leader and ex-Corporator Amjed Ullah Khan said in a representation made to Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy.
Amjed Ullah Khan said that the safety of burqa clad girls and other Muslim students was a matter of high concern. He urged the Commissioner to make some alternate arrangements to ensure safety and security of students and their parents. (INN)
