MBT Demands shed at Namaz Gah for Muslims at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport,Shamshabad

Amjed Ullah Khan (Ex Corporator) today visited Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamsabad for Friday prayers. All the Employees working at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport,GMR Company and also Taxi Drivers are facing problems during Namaz specially during Friday Prayers.

There is no permanent shed due to which they have to pray under the hot Sun. Nearly 400-500 Muslims come for Friday Namaz.Mr Khan said that the entire area of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamsabad belongs to WAKF Board and there use to exists on Masjid E Omer Farooq (D No: 4-39, Gawaguda, Gollapally Kurd, Mandal Shamshabad, R R Dist) on 404 sq Yards with a Grave Yard existed on more than 3000 Sq Yards which was removed for making run way for landing Aeroplanes.

Mr Khan said while the Govt was planning to remove the said Masjid E Omer Farooq its Secretary of Managing Committee Mr Mohiuddin Hashim @ Bade Sahib moved the WAKF Tribunal in I.A. No: 7 of 2007 in O.S.No: 2 of 2007 which granted a stay and restrained the Govt and the GMR Company. But violating the WAKF Tribunal order the said Masjid was removed.

When the matter was raised in the Assembly the then Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohd Ali Shabbir assured the Muslims that a new Masjid will be built within the Airport for Muslims, The said assurance was also given Minister for Minorities Welfare Sri Ahamed Ullah also but till today the Masjid E Omer Farooq has not been built and the temporary Namaz Gah the GMR Company does not allow any shed to be built. In spite of the entire Airport belonging to WAKF Board the Muslims are unable to pray properly.Mr Khan assured the Muslims that he will raise the issue with the State and Central Government and see that a temporary shed is constructed till the construction of Masjid E Omer Farooq is built.
