The Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) has strongly objected to the interference of BJP MLA D. Raja Singh in the conduct of Beef Festival by the students of Osmania University.
MBT Youth leader Amjed Ullah Khan (Ex-Corporator) has written a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday seeking his interference to prevent Raja Singh from causing obstructions in the conduct of Beef Festival. He said that OU students have been organising the Beef Festival for the last several years. However, this year, Raja Singh has been making efforts to stop the Beef Festival by trying to give it a communal colour. He said Raja Singh has been giving hate speeches and trying to incite youth with his provocative statements only to attract media attention. He said that the State Government must take stern action against Raja Singh.
Amjed Ullah Khan also condemned Hyderabad City Police for not taking any action against Raja Singh despite registration of several complaints of hate speeches against him. He said inaction by the police has been encouraging people like Raja Singh to make provocative statements, especially through social media. He said police should take Raja Singh’s open threats against the OU students serious and take stern action. (INN)
