MBT calls for Bandh on Dec. 6

Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) today called for ‘Black Day’ and State bandh on December 6 to mark the 21st anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid.

Speaking to the media here, MBT president Dr Khayam Khan said demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992 was a Black Day in Indian history. The Allahabad high court judgment delivered on September 30, 2010 on the incident was also a “blackest day” in the annals of Indian history as the verdict perverts law and paves ground for fresh hostilities against the minorities and in the name of enforcing law yet another attempt is being made to bury justice at the altar of peace, he added.

The MBT leader demanded that the UPA government take all legal steps and set up a special Supreme Court bench to rehear the whole Babri Masjid title case afresh, and settle the row as per the secular Constitution in letter and spirit. Steps should be taken by the Centre to punish vandals of Babri Masjid, he added. (NSS)
