MBBS admissions: Govt. reduces percentage of seats in ‘A’ category, Muslim candidates lose 50 seats

Hyderabad: In the web counseling of Kaloji Narayan Rao, University of Health Sciences, ‘A’ category seats were reduced from 60% to 50% which resulted in the loss of 50 MBBS seats for Muslim candidates.

Govt. reduced seats in ‘A’ category from 60% to 50% in 3 Muslim minority colleges.

Govt. of Telangana issued GO Ms 132 dated 5th July 2017 reducing the seats in ‘A’ category in order to increase to increase the seats in ‘B’ and ‘C’ categories. After the issue of GO, the hope of enhancement of seats in the second phase of counseling was shattered.

In Deccan Medical College, at 474 marks, in Shadan Medical at 447 marks and at Dr. VRK Medical College at 429 marks of NEET, admissions were completed.

It is demanded that by cancelling GO 132, the old system should be revoked and restore 60% seats in ‘A’ category in minority medical colleges since many students and parents are anxious about it.
