GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on Wednesday reviewed the works in Malkajgiri and Alwal circles.
The Mayor said that 439 works have been sanctioned where as only 196 have been completed and 243 works are yet to be taken up in Alwal Circle. Similarly, 367 works have been sanctioned out of which only 53 works have been taken up and still 314 are pending for which the Mayor directed the Zonal Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioners to take up the works on priority duly coordinating with the concerned Corporators at the earliest.
Majid Hussain along with Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar, held the review meeting along with the Corporators, Zonal Commissioner (North), Deputy Commissioners and senior officials of the Health, Engineering, Town Planning, UCD wing of Malkajgiri and Alwal Circles with regard to various civic related issues and interacted with the Corporators and officials and directed them to expedite the works which are pending since long time.
The Mayor said that most of the Corporators have complained that the drinking water is the major problem and the residents are getting drinking water once in 10 days which is highly objectionable and much inconvenience are being faced by the citizens of the Alwal and Malkajgiri Circle. In view of the importance of the citizens’ need, the Mayor directed the Zonal Commissioner (North) to arrange two more extra tankers for each division so that the drinking water problem could be sorted out.
Majid Hussain interacted with the Corporators and enquired about the sanitation, Road repairing, pot holes patch works, glowing of street lights, providing of tricycles, etc., some of the Corporators have requested the H.W.Mayor that sanitation is not up to the mark at Alwal Circle and mostly old aged people who are permanent employees are not able to perform their duties properly for which they have requested the Mayor to enhance the units to take up sanitation works in a proper manner.
The Mayor has also enquired about the Ganesh Immersion arrangements which are being taken up are up to the expectations are not and directed the Zonal Commissioner to provide all basic civic amenities at the immersion places especially at the lakes where proper street lighting, barricading etc., have to be arranged on priority prior to the Ganesh immersion day.
He informed that a review meeting with regard to various civic related issues pertaining to Kapra and Uppal will be convened on Thursday between 3 to 5PM in his chambers. (INN)
