Mayor reviews civic works in Nampally constituency

Hyderabad, May 1 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain along with Nampaly MLA Mohammed Virasat Rasool Khan and GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu and Corporators of Nampally Assembly Constituency held a review meeting with
regard to various developmental activities and civic related issues in his chambers on Wednesday.

The Mayor, while interacting with Virasat Rasool Khan, said that he along with the Commissioner would be visiting the Nampally Assembly Constituency areas and inspect the works which are pending since long time and spot decisions will be taken up to speed up the ongoing works.

Virasat Rasool Khan stated that the land near Nampally Junior College was identified for road widening but so far no widening has been taken up. In this connection he has requested the Commissioner to write a letter to the Commissioner, Intermediate Education Department to take the position of the land since as it is pending since three
years.

The MIM MLA has complained about drinking water facilities, other civic related issues on ground level operations are not up to the expectations and lot of inconvenience is being faced by the Corporators for free drinking water tankers.

The GHMC Commissioner informed that all the BT works would be completed by 20th May, 2013. He further said that GHMC cannot dig new bore well as the ground water situation in core city is precarious and further informed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was also against digging of new bore wells in the City considering the
depleting ground water.

Krishna Babu directly interacted with the HMWS&SB Managing Director and discussed about ground level operational issues regarding free drinking water tankers in the divisions and requested the Managing Director to take up the location wise and also wide publicity be given about free supply of water tankers in three languages by duly
mentioning the time schedules on the tankers, so that the residents can avail the facility.

The Commissioner further stated that they will be writing a letter to the Government for seeking permission for desilting of Agzal Sagar nala from GHMC funds as it is not included in the annual desilting list. He also said that two vehicles will be provided for each Circle for lifting of debris removal in response to the plea of the Corporators for conducting special debris drive. The Commissioner also informed that Hyderabad Metro Rail would be taking up the shifting up six foot over bridges and reconstructing the same at suitable locations.

Corporators of Nampally Constituency Malekaunnisa Begum, Mohd Zakir Baqueri,Mohsina Parveen, Yasmina Sultana, Mohd. Ghouse Pasha, Zehera Begum, Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh and other senior officials from Town Planning, Engineering and Health wing have participated. (INN)
